As a local from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil when I moved to Australia in 2003 I had no choice but to emerge in the language and learn about multicultural Australia and its aboriginal heritage.
My own experience of learning a second language, my Journalism background studies in Brazil and Australia as well as my native knowledge of Portuguese have equipped me to teach foreigners the fifth most spoken language worldwide.
I have taught individuals and groups since 2004 in Brisbane and Melbourne. What I offer is a language dynamic immersion method, where you learn how the locals talk, using little or no translation in a fun environment. With lots of conversation, audio and visual material I can attend to all needs from a first time learner to an advanced student.
I bring my knowledge and immense appreciation of Brazilian culture to the classroom but also adept my classes talking about different accents and Portuguese differences as this vast language is spoken in Portugal (including Madeira and Azores), Brazil (the most populous Latin America nation), Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.
I also provide you with a selection of material I have prepared from different books and resources, pronunciation practice and tips from music, videos, traditional food and local Brazilian customs. You will be able to practice what you learn from day one in our local Portuguese-speaking Melbourne community!
Currently I teach at a language centre in Melbourne, through private tuition and I also offer group classes at a central location in Melbourne city.
